Editorial Policies

The Early Modern Journal invites scholarly articles of up to 6,000 words dealing with any aspect of early modern Europe and its history, culture, philosophy, or literature. Graduate students from any discipline dealing with the early modern period are encouraged to submit articles. Occasionally, The Early Modern Journal solicits papers dealing with a particular theme.

Papers presented at the annual Claremont Early Modern Studies Symposium will automatically be considered for publication in the journal.

At least two referees will read each submission. While articles will be adjudicated primarily on scholarly merit, referees will also take into consideration the interdisciplinary audience of the journal.
